Gulf Fritillary

On a walk CJ and I found a butterfly with a broken wing, which turned out to be a Gulf Fritillary.  I carried it to some flowers in the shade.

Announcing "Hawai'i Illuminated" at Gallery on the Pali

I am SO excited to announce my solo show, entitled Hawai'i Illuminated, which will run during the month of June 2016 at the Gallery on the Pali.  There will be an artist's reception on Friday, June 10th, 2016 from 6:00-8:00pm.  Come and join us!

SCBWI Hawaii Regional Conference

This past weekend I attended the SCBWI Hawaii Regional Conference in Honolulu.  It was incredibly inspiring and amazing.  Holy crap, I got to meet Dan Santat, for crying out loud!  I especially loved his breakout session entitled "Writing from an Illustrator's Perspective," which discussed illustrating a picture book first and adding text later.  Super enlightening.  I was also fortunate to listen to presentations by the amazingly talented Kirsten Carlson and Suzie Townsend.

Heeia State Park

CJ and I took a spontaneous trip to Heeia State Park.  It was a nice, cool stormyish day!

Honolulu Zoo

This Friday CJ and I took a trip to the Honolulu Zoo.  Aside from the disappointing fact that the hippos weren't available to see, we had a great time!
